Getting the Work Done

The last two days I used some of my workers to help me with the toilet building. They are normal labourers or painters but all of them where handed a hammer and on the job training took place. I am proud to say that we have cladded the building and the roof has been nailed on. Even a coat of paint has been added. All this in two days. Much better than the normal productivity I get. Yesterday we had to work in very windy conditions and then today one of those most beautiful winter days that one can experience in the Eastern Cape. My wife Elmarie gave some sweets to give to the children but unfortunately the teachers are still striking.

The Transkei

From the 3rd of September I will be in the Transkei installing ten 5000l water tanks at 4 schools. Please pray for the planning, a safe trip and open hearts at the school where we are going to share the gospel.

Hard Worker

In photo (002) Johny Albrecht who gave his time for 7 days for free. He organized the digging of the pit, casting of the concrete floor, screed of the classroom floor and a few extras like beams filling and repairing the wood floor of the storeroom. The only way we at Living Water can thank Him is to honour Him in this way.

On the remaining photos is the frame of the toilets which I and four labourers (which I picked up and blessed with a days wages) erected. The big task is now to get a next round of volunteers to finish the building.

Volunteers

It is a privilege to serve a living God and in the process experience how many people are willing to get involved regardless of their age or the lack of knowledge in the construction sector. All people I have asked to get involved have given themselves unselfishly and without any hesitation. Thank you so much.

A Huge Thank You

To our sponsors, you can see the thankfulness of the teachers and the new spring in their step in anticipation of the new look of the school. Thanks again for your involvement ad on completion of the project we want you to come and see and experience the new facilities for yourselves.

Prayer

From the 3rd of September to the 11th we will be in the Transkei to install 10 water tanks at schools. Please pray for:

  • Volunteers to finish the school and toilets
  • Preparation for the trip to Canzibe and the placing of the tanks at the schools
  • Open doors at schools
  • For Elmarie and me that we will keep our focus on what the Lord wants us to do.

Greetings

Renovating
As you know by now Living Water is busy with renovating and building new toilets at Mondplaas primary school. This morning I visited the school to see how the work was progressing. In photo no.1 you can see the principle Mr. Polie where the new long drop toilets will be erected. The workers are busy digging the pit for the toilet. Photo no.2 and 8 show workers repairing the beam filling after we fitted new roof sheets. Photo no.4 the new screed for the classroom. Photo. No 7,9,10 and 11 with the help of the heart pictures I shared the gospel with the kids of the school and praise the Lord quite a few of them accepted Jesus into their hearts.

Prayer Request

Please pray for our teachers. The kids in our rural parts of South Africa that get by with so much less then the kids in the cities.
Greetings
